Aging and Caregiver miniseries in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The County of El DoradoArea Agency on Aging Family Caregiver Support Program is offering another of its popular aging and caregiver miniseries. Learn about how to prevent scams, legal rights, and resources for caregivers.

All events take place at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center. 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 13, 20, and 27.

June 6 with El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) on Preventing Scams
Presented by EDSO Detectives - The Federal Trade Commission reports a record $10 billion stolen in 2023. Scams are often unreported so this number is likely much higher. Protect yourself and your family members from Love and Romance Scams, Publisher Clearing House, Crypto-Fraud, Gift Card Scams, and Debit Card Scams. Preregister early for this popular presentation!

June 13 with County of El Dorado Area Agency on Aging Senior Legal Services
Learn your legal rights and responsibilities in health care and/or
financial agent, including many other responsibilities associated with your
loved ones' health and well-being. This presentation includes discussing
the Physician Order for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST).

June 20th—County of El Dorado Area Agency on Aging Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) - Information and Assistance
Let’s talk about caregiving! 38 million devoted U.S. caregivers provide
36 billion hours of care a year. (AARP, 2023). The FCSP team will discuss
care resources, community supports, transitional care and long-term care
options, and most importantly how to advocate for your health as a
caregiver.
