"The Angel of Tahoe" assists Tahoe Douglas Rotary's efforts with $100K

Lisa Maloff, the South Shore philanthropist responsible for millions of dollars being distributed throughout the community, has donated $100,000 to Tahoe-Douglas Rotary Club.

The funds will go to the club's efforts to strengthen the South Shore of Lake Tahoe Community and improve humanity world-wide.

"We're honored that Ms. Maloff trusts our Club with her generous donation," said Club President Ashley Colvin. "We're already making plans to put the donation to good use through the ongoing service and support that we provide to our local community throughout the year."

Dubbed "The Angel of Tahoe," Lisa Maloff has a long list of donations, estimated at $35 million over four years. Here are some of those gifts:

$10 million for the Robert Maloff Center of Excellence at Barton Hospital which opens in June.

$5.8 million for the Lisa Maloff University Center at the Lake Tahoe Community College.

$3 million for new Robert and Lisa Maloff Track and Field at Whittell High School.

$500,000 to get started on a new building for the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, but she won't be stopping there. She also purchased two vehicles for the club.

$390,000 fire boat for South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue.

$225,000 to Tahoe Youth & Family Services for their programs. She played Mrs. Santa at a Christmas Party thrown for 100 youth, handing out gifts to every one of them with a hug.

She has also given money to the Tahoe Women's Community Fund, Tahoe Douglas Fire for a new boat, South Lake Tahoe Police Department for a new K9 and others.

Maloff's donation to Tahoe-Douglas Rotary Club is offered to support additional local needs that the Club has consistently helped service for many years through its mission of Service Above Self.
