South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting Tuesday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - On Tuesday, June 9, the South Lake Tahoe City Council will hold their monthly meeting. On the agenda is an update to the US 50 South Shore Community Revitalization Project. The Council had asked to be involved in the project to represent the City's interest and ensure public concerns were addressed, and the presentation will include a draft Expanded Economic Impact Analysis.

Besides the update on what has been known as the "Loop Road," there will be a discussion on whether they should consider the adoption of a resolution to place an advisory measure on the project on the ballot for November 3, 2020.

Council will also consider a Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance, a required action that will apply to residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects that require a permit, plan check, or design review in order to prevent the waste of water in landscaping.

They will also hear about the significant budget shortfalls due to COVID-19 and how to address the projected revenue loss. An optimistic scenario has a shortfall of $4,021,221, with a pessimistic loss of $7,586,221.

Other agenda items include rescinding the City Emergency Order No. 1 which authorized administrative citations and fines for violations of state Stay at Home Order, a shared rental ordinance, and amendments to the sign ordinance.
