South Lake Tahoe forecast: Temperatures closer to average by midweek

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The forecast low-pressure system with winds and a chance of snow brought widely scattered snow over the mountains around Lake Tahoe after a very windy Saturday. The showers will be diminishing this evening with a cold night Sunday. There will be widespread freezing temperatures with South Lake Tahoe seeing mid-20s. Things will start warming up closer to average by the middle of the week with lighter winds. Another low is possible Friday and Saturday with breezy winds, showers, and cooler temperatures.
The National Weather Service in Reno forecast for the week:
Monday - Sunny, with a high near 60. East wind around 5 mph.
Monday Night - Clear, with a low around 35. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 74. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 42. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.
Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 77.
Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 41.
Thursday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
Thursday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.
Friday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.
Friday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 37.
Saturday - A slight chance of showers. Snow level 6900 feet rising to 7500 feet in the afternoon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.
Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 36.
Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 69.
