Frozen yogurt shop opens in South Lake Tahoe Tuesday

If the huge fan base on the facebook page for Sno Frozen Yogurt Cafe is any indication, South Lake Tahoe has been waiting too long for a frozen yogurt shop.

They have over 800 fans and they haven't even opened their doors yet. Locals will be happy to know that the frozen yogurt shop opens on Tuesday, June 9 at 5 p.m.

Sno is located at the Chateau across the street from Heavenly Village (4125 Lake Tahoe Blvd). They'll have convenient hours for almost anyone: 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Locals Jackie Rivas and Theron Baker will be serving more than the 12 flavors of yogurt including two sorbets. They will have freshly baked cookies, brownies and muffins as well.

For those wanting healthy options, each flavor of yogurt is marked with its nutritional content. Each one is gluten free and Kosher, and either low-fat or non-fat.

When asked why the new shop, Theron answered, "There was no frozen yogurt in South Lake Tahoe so I saw an opportunity."

The seven year resident of the South Shore has been working as an office assistant, and his business partner, Jackie, has managed other businesses while being a South Lake Tahoe local for the last 16 years.

Jackie wants to remind locals that they get a 10% discount on every purchase.
