Warmer days and nights by the end of the week in Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Expect cooler temps and dry conditions along with typical afternoon breezes to start the week before a large area of high pressure expands westward. This will bring warmer temperatures for the second half of the work week along with chances for thunderstorms mainly south of US-50.

The forecast from the National Weather Service in Reno:

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 74. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 43. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light southwest in the evening.

Tuesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 82.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 83.

Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 47.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 82.

Saturday Night - Clear, with a low around 47.
