Hug High School graduate Jonathan Blunk among dead in Colorado mass shooting

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval made a statement on Saturday to the family of a Sparks man, among 12 killed in the Aurora, Colo., movie theater mass shooting.
MyNews4.com reports Jonathan Blunk, a 2004 graduate of Hug High School, was a victim in Friday's deadly shooting.
"It is with heavy hearts that Kathleen and I learned today that Jonathan Blunk, a 2004 graduate of Hug High, a Navy veteran and a hero lost his life in yesterday's tragic shooting in Colorado," said Sandoval. "Yesterday's horrific act made us all stop and remember how special life is. Kathleen and I extend our thoughts and prayers to Jonathan Blunk's family, his children, and all those affected by this terrible tragedy."

MyNews4.com reports Blunk graduated from Procter Hug High School in 2004 and enlisted in the Navy, serving out of San Diego aboard the USS Nimitz. He left the service in 2009 and moved to Colorado. He was married but separated and had two children, ages 4 and 2.
