Free weekly COVID testing in Kirkwood and Woodfords

ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. - There is a new schedule for COVID testing in Woodfords in Alpine County. Starting this week, testing will take place every week on Thursdays instead of the previous every other week schedule. These tests are for those with or without symptoms.

Tests are in the parking lot of Alpine County Health and Human Services in Woodfords, across the street from the Fire Station.

A new schedule is also in place for Kirkwood testing, starting Wednesday, April 12. Tests will now take place every Wednesday instead of every other week on Thursdays. They are taking place in the Lower Red Cliffs parking lot.

Registrations can be made here - https://www.projectbaseline.com/study/covid-19/ - or people can visit the site and staff will get them registered. Even if you were tested previously, you are encoursged to get tested again, as the test only shows what is in your body on that day. Testing is recommended as often as every two weeks. The sites for testing are open 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Alpine County needs as many people as possible to get tested to help them move as rapidly as possible toward complete reopening, and to continue to stay open.

Persons who register on-line will not need to leave their cars. Results will be confidentially shared with participants within 2-5 days. Persons who have not registered will be able to attend and be guided through the registration process on site by Public Health staff.

Anyone with severe illness, such as high fever, cough, and shortness of breath, please contact you healthcare provider for guidance on testing and healthcare provider visits.
