Body found floating in Lake Tahoe Monday afternoon

UPDATE: The man whose body was found in Lake Tahoe on September 9 has been identified as 77-year-old Manouchehr Tajeran who was a resident of South Lake Tahoe. His family has been notified.

Cause of death is drowning, manner of death has been accidental according to the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - First responders are at the shore of Lake Tahoe after a person was found floating in the lake Monday afternoon.

A person walking near the shore by the Idle Hour in South Lake Tahoe called 9-1-1 at approximately 4:43 p.m. on September 6 after they spotted a body in the water.

First responders arrived immediately and retrieved the unidentified person from the lake. They were deceased.

The El Dorado County Sheriff Coroner is en route to the scene and will take the body for an autopsy and identification.

No cause of death, identification of person or no further details are available at this time and investigators are still at the scene. This story will be updated when more is released.
