Liberty Energy reports that power has been restored after a brief outage in South Lake Tahoe this afternoon that affected about 3,500 customers.
Power went out at about 2:30 this afternoon and was fully restored by 3:15 p.m., said Randy Kelly, manager for Liberty Energy. The outage stretched along Pioneer Trail, to Black Bart and included Lake Tahoe Community College and the South Tahoe Public Utility District sewer plant, Kelly said.
Technicians were able to locate the problem, called a "floater", in which a wire came off an insulator, grounded and then tripped.
