Heavenly, Kirkwood and Northstar employees volunteer on EpicPromise Day

Employees from Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood Mountain Resorts participated in various conservation and maintenance projects around Lake Tahoe Saturday as part of EpicPromise Week.

Heavenly employees were at South Tahoe Middle School and Sierra House Elementary on South Shore on September working on several different projects, and kirkwood joined Cal Trout in the Kirkwood Meadow.

At Sierra House an energetic group painted activities on the playground, started a fence around the Kindergarten play area, worked on the trail of the fit course which will soon be home to slack lines, and cleaned up the lot in front of the school.

Over 2,500 Vail employees will participate in 25 projects across 13 regions in the U.S. and Canada.

EpicPromise Week is Vail Resorts’ annual company-wide volunteer week. Whether forging new trails or helping restore local schools, EpicPromise Week allows employees along with their friends and family members to rally around local community needs. Last year, 1,936 Vail Resorts employees participated in eleven different projects, resulting in 7,744 hours of volunteer service.

Vail Resorts doesn't use just this week to give back. Through EpicPromise, the company contributes $10.3 million in charitable donations to more than 250 nonprofit partners, organizes 20,000 hours of company-sponsored employee volunteer time, and executes on a variety of environmental initiatives each year.
