Aging and Care Giver series to be held in South Lake Tahoe

A series of classes to be held in South Lake Tahoe will be giving instruction and support to caregivers who are, or are planning to care for a family member or friend 60-years-old or more.

The free classes will be held at Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel on five nights:

OCTOBER 12th Mealtime Matters: The Importance of Nutrition in the Elderly

NEW CLASS Heather Lallement, CHPN, RN, Barton Home Health and Hospice

OCTOBER 19th Understanding the Stages of Alzheimer’s Disease
NEW CLASS Jacob Harmon, N. CA. and NV. Alzheimer’s Association

OCTOBER 26th Compassion Fatigue: Caring for the Caregiver
NEW CLASS Rebecca Phillipsen, SW, Barton Home Health and Hospice

NOVEMBER 2nd Music and Memory: Awaken the Minds of Dementia
NEW CLASS Gini Cunningham, Author, Alzheimer’s Advocate and Researcher

NOVEMBER 9th Legal Rights/Responsibilities of Caregiving: How to Stay Out of Trouble NEW CLASS Diana Steele, Attorney, El Dorado County Senior Legal

Each class is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the hotel which is located at 4130 Lake Tahoe Blvd. All materials and classes are free.

If you are a caregiver you may qualify for free respite care so you can attend.
