Authorities find runaway who threatened a school shooting

9:45 p.m. update 10/15/15: Douglas County Sheriff's Office reports that the young man who ran away from China Spring Youth Camp was found at the Walmart on Topsy Lane and taken into custody. He was arrested without incident or injuries.

Numerous tips received by law enforcement led to his capture.

A 15-year-old runaway from the China Spring Youth Camp is being sought by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

John Luna ran away from the camp on October 10 and may not only be a danger to himself, but to others. Investigators say Luna made threats that he intends to go to a school to commit a school shooting. So far, the Sheriff's Office has been unable to determine which school.

On October 10, 2015, the 15-year-old ran away from the China Spring Youth Camp. During the subsequent investigation the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office determined John Luna may be a danger to himself and others. Luna has made threats he intends to go to a school to commit a school shooting. At this time the Sheriff’s Office is unable to determine which specific school.

They are working closely with the Douglas County School District to ensure the safety of the students and have taken security precautions. They to not want to instill fear but wanted to make the public aware of the threat.

He is described as 5'07" tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, fair complexion and a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a red plaid shirt, khaki pants and a beanie with flames.

Anyone seeing someone matching John Luna’s description is asked to call 911 immediately.
