Bids being accepted for Lakeview Commons food concession

Those interested in operating the food and beverage concession services at Lakeview Commons at El Dorado Beach Recreation Area in South Lake Tahoe may now submit a proposal.

This process was initiated in 2012 when Lakeview Commons first opened. The City of South Lake Tahoe said they would seek bids by concessionaires for the location every few years.

Currently Aaron Abrams and Michael Adlard operate Lakeview Café in the popular summer location and they are able to apply for the new permit. The pair was also awarded the concession at Regan Beach, but due to the kitchen in need of major upgrades and repairs, they have not worked out of the space the last few summers.

"Until such time as the kitchen is replaced, or the Regan Beach redesign is constructed, we won’t offer it up for bidding," SLT City Manager Nancy Kerry told South Tahoe Now.

Anyone interested in operating food and beverage at Lakeview Commons must complete a Vendor Information Sheet to be entered into the City of South Lake Tahoe Vendor Database, which is required to submit a proposal.

Go to this website address: http://vendors.planetbids.com/SLTahoe/vendor_registration.cfm and follow the instructions applicable to the Proposer.

Those already registered with the City can access bidding opportunities through the City’s website under the “How Do I” button and click on “Bid on City Projects & RFP’”. If you encounter any difficulties accessing the Planet Bids website, please call the Planet Bids customer service team at 818-992-1771.

The non-motorized boat concession at El Dorado Beach will also go through the same bid process. It is currently under legal review and should be released this week. Stand Up Paddle is the current concessionaire at this location and have been since 2012.
