City: Thanks Raley’s for Support of the Turkey Trot Fun Run

The City of South Lake Tahoe would like to remind the community that the 2012 Turkey Trot Fun Run is being held this Saturday, November 17th at the Parks and Recreation facility at 11am. The Fun Run is a free event for children ages 3-13 and every participant will win a prize. We would also like to thank the many local volunteers, including Raley’s and Optimist Club for their support of this annual local event.

Raley’s has generously donated all of the turkeys and pies as the awarded prizes to Turkey Trot Fun Run winners.

“As a family owned business, Raley's is proud to give back. Ending hunger in our community is one of our top priorities. So when we heard the Turkey Trot was in need, we were happy to help” said Raley’s Local Store Director Seth McGrath.

“We encourage our customers to join us and support this important event! And to help fight hunger year round, we encourage our customers to donate to “Food for Families” at any of our stores. 100 percent of donations go directly to those in need,” said McGrath.

City of South Lake Tahoe Mayor Claire Fortier said, “A special thank you to Raley’s for their generous support of this long time local community event that children have enjoyed for generations.”

Sign-ups for the Turkey Trot Fun Run begin at 10am, with races beginning at 11am, and awards being distributed at noon. The fun run is being held at the Parks and Recreation Complex located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. This event is held rain, snow or shine.
