New on the South Shore: Bohemian Beads & Arts

It's been just four weeks since Bohemian Beads & Arts opened in South Lake Tahoe, and they've already started to create a buzz. Artists, beaders, crafters and other creative people have found the store to be their new "go to" store for supplies.
If you've ever been in the middle of a project and found you needed a tube of paint, a brush or a jar of Gesso, now there is no more need to run off the hill to make a purchase.
As you walk into the store, located at the newly rejuvenated Swiss Chalet Village, you'll be greeted by owner Robyn Thompson-Cefalu or her daughter Annie. The long time artists saw a need for an art supply store after moving to South Lake Tahoe six years ago from Modesto, CA. They owned a bead store in Modesto and have been adding to their stored supply ever since.
They have started a board on display at the shop, full of ideas from shoppers on what they'd like to see the store carry. Many items on the list have been crossed off as they fill their shelves often with new stock. The shop is working closely with LTCC art instructors so they can carry the supplies needed for classes.
One part of the shop is highlighting local artists who will be switched out to give everyone a chance to display their work. Other plans for the store include beading and painting classes.
On Small Business Saturday, November 29, Bohemian Beads & Arts will offer 20% off the entire store.
They are opened Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for now as they're looking to add more hours. You can find them on Facebook.
Welcome to town!
