COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say another 39 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday. Of those, 19 are in El Dorado Hills, nine in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, one in North County, two in Greater Placerville, one in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, two in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, four in Lake Tahoe region. There is one awaiting address confirmation.

One of those new cases, 20 are under the age of 18, none are aged 18-49, eight are aged 50-64, and 11 aged 65 or older.

Another 342 people were tested for the coronavirus and 303 negative tests results were received.

There have been another 24 assumed recoveries with 592 assumed active cases.

There are currently eleven COVID-19 patients hospitalized with six of them in the ICU and one suspected case hospitalized.

To date there have been four deaths.

The county moved into the purple tier November 17.

The County dashboard shows cases by episode date, not by the date El Dorado County Public Health was notified about the new case. Episode date is the earliest of the following dates: (symptom onset date, diagnosis date, specimen collection date, date received, or date of death) and serves as the best approximation of the date of infection.

The 7-day positivity rate for El Dorado County is 8.2 percent positivity and the 14-day rate of new cases is 262 (+2) (these figures do not include today's data).

The Lake Tahoe region of the county is in the High Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 100) and is joined there by El Dorado/Diamond Springs, Shingle Springs/Cameron Park/Rescue, El Dorado Hills, Placerville and now Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz and North County, South County is in the Moderate Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99). No region is in the low tier (25 or less per 100,000 for last 14 days).

In Carson City there are currently 45 (+4) people hospitalized with 10 (+0) of them in the ICU. There are 2 suspected cases of COVID-19 in the hospital.

In Douglas County there are currently 11 (+2) people hospitalized with COVID-19 with 2 (+1) of them in the ICU along with no suspected cases in the ICU.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 538 new COVID-19 cases and six new deaths in Washoe County since yesterday.

Their seven-day test rate is 6.6 percent positive, and average daily case rate for last 7 days is 18.6 per 100,000. Seven-day increase is 10.9 percent, 14-day increase is 23.3 percent.
