Lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe; NV Energy issues PSOM for Carson-Genoa

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for the Greater Lake Tahoe area from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Thursday. Expect winds from the southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and waves 2 to 4 feet for Lake Tahoe.

Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.

NV Energy has issued a Public Safety Outage Management (PSOM) warning for the Carson City - Genoa area for Wednesday, December 6.

During a proactive outage event, NV Energy will de-energize power for customers in high-risk zones to help protect the community and environment from wildfires.
