SnowGlobe attendees need to be prepared for very cold temperatures

Cold, Cold, Cold. That is the forecast for South Lake Tahoe on Tuesday night and SnowGlobe attendees need to be prepared.

A cold front heading to the Sierra on Monday is expected to bring with it 1" to 3" of snow on Tuesday, below normal temperatures and winds at 16 mph with local gusts up to 38 mph. The higher peaks will see winds up to 80 mph.

SnowGlobe attendees will need to be prepared for very cold temps since the high on Tuesday will max out at 24 and the low of 10 will feel more like -7 with the wind chill.

It important to remember to dress in layers, especially when standing outside in the elements during the concert. A "base layer" like CuddleDuds or long johns, followed by many thin, warm layers rather than a few thick layers. It will insulate better. While it won't make the same fashion statement as seen Monday night it will give you comfort and prevent hypothermia.

South Lake Tahoe City Manager Nancy Kerry suggested attendees get hand and feet warmers before heading to the venue Tuesday. "Start warm, and stay warm," she said.
