SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - SnowGlobe 2018 is in the books, and according to law enforcement and other safety personnel as well as festival organizers, it was the most successful one yet.
There were fewer arrests and citations, fewer medical issues and an increase in community collaboration to help the event be both successful and less of a burden to the neighboring residents who have expressed concern over noise from the bass-centric sounds of the electronic music performers on the outdoor stages.

South Lake Tahoe City Council adds monthly evening meetings

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The new city council voted unanimously during their December 11 meeting to add nightly meetings to their calendar during the year to make it easier for residents who work during the day to make it to a meeting.
“Council understands that everyone can’t make it to a morning meeting,” said South Lake Tahoe City Manager Frank Rush. “Council has made this change in an effort to make the city more open, more accessible and more transparent, and encourages our citizens to participate in City government.”

City of South Lake Tahoe - Brooke Laine mayor, council members and city clerk sworn in

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The three newly elected South Lake Tahoe City councilmembers were sworn in on Tuesday along with the new city clerk, and a new mayor and mayor pro-tem have been selected.
Devin Middlebrook, Tamara Wallace, Cody Bass and Sue Blankenship all took the oath of office in front of a packed City Council meeting on December 11, 2018.
Brooke Laine was unanimously chosen for mayor and Jason Collin was unanimously selected for mayor pro-tem.

SR28 south of Incline Village to close overnight Dec. 11-13

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - There will be full road closures on State Route 28 south of Incline Village for two nights this week so the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) can install bridges on the new shared used path.
Both directions of SR 28 will be closed between Lakeshore Boulevard in southern Incline Village near Tunnel Creek Café and Sand Harbor State Park from 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. nightly Dec. 11 to Dec. 13. The road closures are scheduled for overnight hours to reduce impact on heavy daytime traffic. The closures are weather dependent and subject to change.

The annual SnowGlobe Music Festival is fast approaching. The SnowGlobe organization has committed to protecting the fields and is working to engineer the sound to reduce the impact to our local residents. They have agreed to reduced hours the first two nights in addition to other actions. These actions should be applauded as they were under no obligation to change anything as per their contract. Again we (NoGlobe) thank SnowGlobe for working with us. The SnowGlobe organization has acted as a responsible business partner.

New South Lake Tahoe city manager takes the helm

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Frank A. Rush, Jr. is now officially the city manager for South Lake Tahoe.
Rush was sworn in on Wednesday, December 6, 2018
For the past 17 years Rush has been the city manager for the city of Emerald Isle in North Carolina. He and his wife of 20 years, Suzanne, moved to the South Shore with their two teenage sons, Jacob and Matthew.
