The inaugural Lake Tahoe Boats & Brews Boat Show will be held in the Tahoe Keys Village Friday, June 24 through Sunday, June 26. The three day boat show event is free and visitors will be able to check out a wide array of new boats, water toys and an assortment of local and regional vendors.

On Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club will be sponsoring a Brew Fest during the event. By donating $20 to the Brew Fest, participants will be able to sample unlimited local and regional craft beers.

The Annual Action Adventure Expo and Hike for the Humane Society will be held in the back parking lot at Harrah's on Saturday, June 11, 2016. The event is sponsored by Harrah's and Harvey's and runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Stage 4 of the Amgen Tour of California is in the books, and now it's time for 180 of the best in men's cycling and 108 of elite women's racers to head to South Lake Tahoe.

Peter Sagan won Wednesday's race at the Laguna Seca racetrack. BMC's Greg Van Avermaet challenged Sagan, but it wasn't enough and the Tinkoff rider easily won and now wears the green jersey of the sprint competition leader. Dimension Data’s Nathan Haas was third after leading out the sprint.

South Lake Tahoe will celebrate Earth Day with a full day of education, live music, arts and crafts and with local vendors and food at Bijou Community Park on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Recognize and celebrate our region’s unique beauty while being educated about local environmental issues. The public is invited to the free event where they will learn about ways to counteract global climate change through recycling and composting, alternative energy, water conservation, sustainability, and reducing our ecological footprint.

The annual Tahoe Chamber Business Expo will be held at Harvey's Convention Center on April 1, but time is closing in on signing up for the last 20 available booth spaces.

The 2016 Expo is the South Shore’s largest business and networking experience produced by Tahoe Chamber and it showcases businesses and their products, programs and services to over 1,500 attendees.

Vendors are now being accepting for the annual Home and Garden Show held in South Lake Tahoe will be held April 22-23, 2016 at the Recreation Complex. For those that sign up before January 29, a large early bird discount is available.

By school day, he's the leader on the hill at South Tahoe High School, but by night, he's leading the field of American custom builders of monoskis.

"He" is Chad Houck, second year principal at STHS. Houck was recently featured in his second Warren Miller ski movie, this time in "Chasing Shadows." His first Miller highlight was in 2006 when his monoskiing was in "Off the Grid."

Zawadisha's annual Holiday Bazaar is back again, and this time in a new location. Join them at the Blue Angel Cafe on Saturday, December 5 to knock out your holiday shopping while helping to change the world at the same time. The event will be held in the loft upstairs at the restaurant located at 1132 Ski Run Blvd. from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Entrance is free and all ages are welcome.

The annual Valhalla Holiday Faire will be held at the Tallac Historic Site this weekend, inside the Valhalla Grand Hall. This is an annual holiday tradition for many, who head out to the hall to see local artists, craftspeople, Santa Claus, choirs and musical groups.

After the grand opening Friday night, the faire continues on Saturday, November 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Sunday, November 22 the hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Join us for the final day of the 20th Annual Valhalla Holiday Faire, in the Grand Hall,from 10 AM to 4 PM. Enjoy the festively decorated rustic estate at this free event, which will feature a Christmas tree, holiday music, 30 local vendors and artisans, as well as performances by the South Lake Tahoe Children’s Choral Society with a special appearance by Santa Claus! For three days, historic Valhalla comes alive for the Holiday Season. Celebrate at the 20th Annual Valhalla Holiday Faire, in the Grand Hall,from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. Thanks to the support of 38 local businesses/organizations, dozens of local vendors and hundreds of weekly attendees, On Course Events produced over 20 community events this summer, including 3 brand new event series’.

“None of these events would be possible without the support we have from our local
community,” states Leslie Schultz of On Course Events. “The best part is we’re able to recycle that support right back into the community and the local non-profit organizations that support it. That’s true Tahoe support!”

You'll soon be seeing red if all goes as planned.

The annual trek of the Kokanee salmon into Taylor Creek from Lake Tahoe should begin in the next week or so, but with the drought and a very active beaver population, the Forest Service had to step in and help.

"We didn't have a lot of fish last year," said Lindsay Gusses, the Taylor Creek Site Supervisor. "We are updating our strategies to have fish here during the festival."

The annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook-off is just a week away. The event which features local businesses on display as well as a chili competition is at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center on September 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is also a cake walk for the kids.

The Lake Tahoe Humane Society, the El Dorado County Jail Inmate Culinary Arts crew and Cardinale Way Toyota are just three of the participants in the chili cook-off. Attendees can sample each chili (for a small entry fee) and vote for their favorite along with the judges.

If you've been to the Town of Genoa you know how challenging it can be to access the internet and check your email due to spotty, at best, reception. This will be a thing of the past as the town just received $20,000 from the Douglas County Commissions on August 6 to fund their Main Street Wi-Fi Project.

The 3rd Annual Meyers Mountain Bike Festival is going on Saturday and Sunday, August 8th and 9th in the parking lot of Divided Sky It brings together the biking community, especially those that enjoy bicycles on dirt in beautiful Lake Tahoe.

It is full of events from rides and demos of equipment to a BBQ and Beer Garden.

The Washoe will re-unite at the Tallac Historic Site in South Lake Tahoe this weekend to honor their culture and heritage during their annual Wa She Shu It’ Deh Native American Arts Festival.

The festival features native arts and crafts, food vendors, basket-making, raffles, Native American dance and drum performances. It is held at Valhalla Grand Hall and lawn on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The fourth annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off is building for Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the South Tahoe Recreation Complex on Rufus Allen Blvd.in South Lake Tahoe. The event will start at 10:00 a.m. with vendors and a vintage car show. Vendors will offer products and services for the home, including items like hand crafted furniture and lamps, small plants, local artists and authors, candles, and gift items. Liberty Energy, the Lake Tahoe Humane Society, Christmas Cheer, and the Cancer League will be on hand to explain the services available for our community.

Back in 1965, a resolution of the El Dorado County Supervisors and a vote of the people residing in Meyers voted to create a park for their community. Now, 50 years later, that same community is celebrating the park's 50th anniversary and everyone is invited.

On Saturday, July 11, the celebration at the park will start at 10 a.m. and go until the sun sets behind the mountains.

There will be food, vendors, a car show, beer and wine garden and a concert throughout the day.

Lakeview Commons will be packed full of vendors, stand up paddle board racers, and excitement this weekend as South Tahoe Standup Paddle hosts the annual Race the Lake of the Sky.

This family friendly event attracts some of the world’s best athletes and has become known as the must attend flat water SUP race in the country.

The weekend races include a short course, long distance, team relay, grom races and the SUP Cross Sprint course as well as a race.

The Grand Jury investigated several allegations surrounding voter elected El Dorado County Auditor/Controller Joe Harn, including the fact that he lost the county more than $3.5 million due to incomplete paperwork submitted to the State of California.

The Grand Jury also found that Harn is guilty of disrespectful and harassing behavior toward others. One member of the Board of Supervisors told them, "Everybody knows Joe Harn is a bully. They have known it for twenty years.”

Celebrate all things local at Sample the Sierra on Sunday, September 6 at Bijou Community Park in South Lake Tahoe. Returning for its sixth year this Labor Day weekend, Sample the Sierra highlights the unique talent, heritage and bounty of the Sierra Nevada region with local food, wine, beer and spirits, as well as handmade art and music. Foodies, wine enthusiasts and hopheads have the opportunity to purchase discounted early bird tickets until August 1 to experience Lake Tahoe’s only farm-to-fork festival.

Hike for the Lake Tahoe Humane Society & Action Adventure EXPO will offer hiking, lunch, a vaccination clinic, celebrities and adventure exposition.

This dog friendly event will be taking place in the back parking lot of Harrah's Tahoe on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (reminder, all dogs must be on leashes)
