The drivers of two Chevy Tahoe SUVs were involved in a crash at 10:55 a.m. on March 3 in Markleville, Calif.
A maroon 1999 Tahoe, driven by a 19-year-old female Markleville resident was traveling north on Diamond Valley Road just south of Chambers Lane. Behind her was a white Washoe Tribal Police 2014 Tahoe, driven by a 25-year-old male police officer.
The driver of the maroon Tahoe pulled to the right shoulder and the police vehicle continued northward. For unknown reasons, the driver of the maroon Tahoe immediately made an abrupt U-turn directly into the path of the police vehicle.
The police Tahoe struck the left side of the maroon Tahoe, causing major damage to both vehicles.
This traffic collision is still under investigation.
The driver of the maroon vehicle complained of pain to her head, but that was the only injury.
