Fatal shooting in Douglas County under investigation

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Department (DCSO) Is investigating a shooting that left one dead in Gardnerville.
At 9:31 p.m. on March 21, 2020, DCSO deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the area of the 1400 block of Bumblee Drive. When they arrived they found a deceased male, a victim of gunshot wounds.
Deputies located, detained and interviewed all parties they believed to be involved.
According to DCSO Undersheriff Ron Elges an investigation is currently underway. He said that since all involved parties have been located there is no threat to the community.
No other information is being released at this time.
Earlier in the day, deputies from DCSO were joined by Alpine County Sheriff's Office and USFS after a report was received about a man walking on the Faye Luther trailhead with a gun.
The man was contacted and it was determined he had not committed any crimes and was released.
