Grapes and Gates Wine Tasting on May 2 to Benefit Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation will host the 11th Annual Grapes and Gates wine tasting event on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Edgewood Clubhouse’s North Room beginning at 6 pm. Enjoy a beautiful Lake Tahoe sunset while tasting exquisite regional wines and gourmet foods from the area’s top restaurants.

“This event stands out as the best wine tasting event of the year,” said Foundation board member and Lakeside Inn president Lon Rusk. “The caliber of wine and food is outstanding and it is always a great party.”

This year’s event will feature gourmet tastings from local restaurants Café Fiore, Cork and More, ECHO Restaurant, Fresh Ketch, Latin Soul and Naked Fish. Tastings will be offered by more than 12 wineries and two breweries including Caymus Winery, Silver Oak Winery, Rombauer Winery, W.H. Smith Winery, Dead Man’s Hand, Young’s Winery, Sierra Nevada Brewery, Jeff Runquist Wines, Vision Wines, Jeremy Wine Co., Red Poets & Skyhawk Lane, Benessere Winery, Un Po’ Pazzo Italian wines and Henry Wine Group French wines.

The evening’s highlight will be the award presentation. The Foundation will be introducing and presenting the inaugural “Bill Killebrew” award, as well as honoring USSA Coach of the Year, Freestyle Team head coach Jere Crawford.
