Effects of winter storms on clarity of Lake Tahoe topic of upcoming workshops

Event Date:
October 13, 2015 - 6:00pm

Everyone hopes for a winter of big storms at Lake Tahoe. Recent media hype evokes images of a "Godzilla" El Niño. But for Tahoe, big storms come with big impacts to Lake clarity as snowmelt and stormwater runoff transport pollutants and fine sediment into the Lake.

So how do Tahoe communities protect the Lake from big storm events?

Join a fun and informative evening with an expert panel to discuss how runoff from big storms can convey pollution to Lake Tahoe. Hear what Tahoe's communities are doing to address stormwater pollution and find out how you can get involved in the League's Pipe Keepers program to investigate the stormwater impacts of your own neighborhood.

Join the League to Save Lake Tahoe for free food and drink, and fantastic conversations at two workshops, one on the south shore and the other on the north side.

October 6, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
North Tahoe Events Center, Kings Beach | North Shore

October 13, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
