Lake Tahoe area roadwork October 3 - October 8

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to just north of Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected by summer 2017.
October 2-7 - State Route 89 (Placer County) from St. Michael’s Court to Sugar Pine Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control around the clock from 10 p.m. Sunday to 11 a.m. Friday for curb and gutter work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from Fir Avenue to Sequoia Avenue North from 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for roadway excavation and from Middle Sequoia Avenue to Sequoia Avenue North from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday for landscape work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay. The project is constructing new drainage facilities to treat stormwater runoff and repaving a four-mile section of the highway. Completion is expected in spring 2017.
October 3-7 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Upper Emerald Bay Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls at various locations from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for shoulder work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks are being built in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side. Drainage systems are also being built and the roadway is being resurfaced. Completion is expected this fall.
October 3-7 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from the “Y” intersection with U.S. Highway 50 to Lukins Way: Northbound and southbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for curb, gutter and sidewalk work. Motorists can also expect one-way traffic control from West Way to Cascade Road from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday for shoulder work.

State Route 28 (Placer County): Work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. Highway work includes installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements. Completion is expected this fall.
October 3-7 - State Route 28 (Placer County) from Fox Street to Beaver Street: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday for shoulder work.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from the Amador County line to Weber Creek: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for tree work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Cameron Park Drive: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Red Hawk Drive: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Bedford Avenue to Canal Street: Westbound
motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for pavement work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Strawberry Lodge Drive to Johnson Pass Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations around the clock from midnight Tuesday to 11:59 p.m. Thursday for grinding and paving work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Baljibou Road: Eastbound motorists can
expect the #2 lane closed from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday for curb and gutter work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Squaw Creek to Pole Creek Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for grinding and paving work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) at Cornelian Drive/Wasabe Drive: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at the South Fork of the American River/Chili Bar: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.

State Route 267 (Placer County) from Northstar Drive to Martis Peak Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.
