Event Date:
November 14, 2012 - 10:30am

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency is putting the finishing touches on the final draft Regional Plan Update and associated documents and would like to hear the public’s thoughts on the Plan during their two-day joint Advisory Planning Commission and Governing Board meetings taking place on Wednesday, November 14 at the Chateau in Incline Village, and Thursday, November 15 at Harveys Lake Tahoe in Stateline. The Board is expected to take action on the Plan on December 12.

Public comment is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. during Wednesday’s meeting. The Regional Plan Update Committee will then convene in the afternoon to discuss new issues recently raised by Governing Board members and stakeholders during the Governing Board meeting in October.

Thursday’s meeting will include recommendations from the Regional Plan Update Committee on possible new proposals to the Regional Plan Update discussed in committee the day before. Public comment on the final draft documents will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Harveys.

“The Regional Plan Update is the result of extensive public input and we’re committed to seeing that it meets environmental and community needs,” said Joanne S. Marchetta, Executive Director of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. “We invite members of the public to give us their final thoughts on the Plan.”

All Regional Plan Update final documents as well as the Governing Board agenda and packet are available on the TRPA website. TRPA staff will have USB thumb drives available for purchase at the November Governing Board meetings that contain the final draft Regional Plan Update and associated documents for a cost of $15 each. The Governing Board is scheduled to take action on the Regional Plan Update at their December 12 meeting taking place at Harveys Lake Tahoe in Stateline.

“Over 5,000 people have weighed in on the vision for the Regional Plan Update over the last five years," said Norma Santiago, El Dorado County Supervisor and Governing Board Chair. ”It is exciting to see us so close to the finish line.”
