Kudos: Heavenly Mountain Resort adopts a day at Bread & Broth

Thanks to the generous Vail EpicPromise Grant program funds awarded to Bread & Broth, 12 Monday evening meals are served annually through B&B’s “Adopt A Day of Nourishment” program. On a monthly basis, Heavenly Mountain Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort alternate hosting a dinner and sending a sponsor volunteer crew to work with the B&B volunteers to provide a hot, nutritious meal and “giveaway” bags to South Tahoe Community members dealing with food insecurity.

Kudos: Kirkwood sponsors "Adopt A Day" at Bread and Broth

Dan Deemer, a member of Kirkwood Mountain Resort’s Guest Services team, was one of the sponsor crew volunteers who came to help at Bread & Broth’s dinner on Monday, November 2nd. After spending time on the serving line dishing out generous portions of chili and pizza, he took a moment to jot down his views on his time spent at Kirkwood’s “Adopt A Day” dinner. “The opportunity to directly give back to the local community is extremely rewarding,” he wrote. “The appreciation of those who are in need can be seen in their smiling faces.”

Six times a year, Heavenly Mountain Resort partners with Bread & Broth to host an “Adopt A Day of Nourishment” thanks to Vail’s Epic Promise Grant program. On October 19th, Heavenly hosted the evening dinner and sent a great crew from the Product, Sales and Services team. “We are always honored to help the community,” said Jared Autio, PSS assistant manager. “Do good is a core value here at Heavenly.”

“Bread & Broth provides a great service to the local community and we’re happy to be a part of serving the South Lake Tahoe community,” said Linda Mueller. Linda and husband, Jim Mueller are the owners of Adventure Mountain Resort Lake Tahoe and they have been sponsoring a B&B “Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD)” for the last three years. Kudos: South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge hosts Bread & Broth Dinner

Bread & Broth would like to thank the South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge #1632 for their Adopt A Day sponsorship of the Monday, October 12th evening dinner. Thanks to the Moose Lodge’s generous donation, the 91 folks who came for dinner were served baked salmon with orange sauce, spaghetti with red sauce, a mixed green salad, a lovely strawberry/cantaloupe salad and a wide assortment of desserts. Although heaping servings were doled out during the first serving at 4:00 p.m., 27 diners returned for the 5:00 p.m. “second” serving of this tasty and nutritious dinner.

Kudos: Bread & Broth thanks Riva Grill

Every Monday at St. Theresa Church’s Grace Hall, the Bread & Broth cooks use their well honed culinary skills to prepare nutritious and tasty meals enjoyed by our very grateful dinner guests. These wonderful meals are made possible by the funding provided by B&B’s “Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD)” sponsors. On September 21, 2015, the hosting AAD sponsor was Riva Grill on the Lake. In addition to donating $250, Riva Gill sent a sponsor crew who brought their dining skills to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the evening’s guests.

Kudos: Kirkwood Mountain Resort helps out at Bread & Broth

The “Adopt A Day of Nourishment” sponsor for Bread & Broth’s dinner on Monday, September 14 was Kirkwood Mountain Resort.
