12:33 a.m. - Assist Other Agency - Black Bart Ave - DEPUTIES LOCATED A SUSPECT VEHICLE FROM SOUTH LAKE TAHOE SHOOTING. TWO MALE SUSPECTS, AGES 20 AND 26.

A 28-year-old woman is dead and her fiance has been hospitalized after a shooting in Shingle Springs Wednesday evening.

On October 4, 2017 at approximately 5:47 p.m., deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) responded to multiple reports of a shooting near the intersection of Mother Lode Drive and Sunset Lane.

They discovered two people shot at the scene. One of them, Bay Area resident Jessica Lyn Ball, was pronounced dead at the scene. A male, who was later determined to be her fiance, suffered a single gunshot would and was transported to a local hospital.

STATELINE - A man was found dead at a south shore Lake Tahoe casino hotel room Tuesday night with the suspect in the killing at large, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO).

The crime happened at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Lake Tahoe and the suspect is an adult female, according to the sheriff’s office.

DCSO deputies responded to the Hard Rock at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, for a death investigation of a male in one of their rooms.

South Lake Tahoe resident Ray Brashears, age 33, is facing a plethora of charges after being arrested by deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) Tuesday night.

The deputies pulled over Brashears September 19 at 9:00 p.m. and discovered he had an active misdemeanor warrant out of Tahoe Township for theft. He was also on probation through Nevada Parole and Probation.

1:40 a.m. - Discharging Firearm - Chippewa St - 25-YEAR-OLD MALE SUBJECT WAS ARRESTED FOR FIRING A HANDGUN INSIDE OF HIS RESIDENCE AND BEING DRUNK IN PUBLIC. A REPORT WAS GENERATED FOR DOCUMENTATION.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Two people from the Sacramento area were arrested by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department Saturday afternoon on suspicion of stealing phones from both the Verizon and T-Mobile stores in South Lake Tahoe.

8/13/17 7:10 p.m. update: The witnesses in the photo have been identified but DCSO is still looking for the identity of the two male suspects.

One man was stabbed and two other men are being sought after an altercation led to a stabbing outside Harrah's Tahoe on Sunday, August 13 at about 3:10 a.m.

Deputies from Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) were called to the Stateline casino valet area on a report of a stabbing and robbery. When they arrived they found the unidentified man with a serious stab wound.

Deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) arrested two juveniles in Placerville on August 8 after a robbery at the Payless Shoe Store on Missouri Flat Road.

Just before 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, the two allegedly entered the store and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. One of the two males had a knife. They then fled on foot.

A short time after the deputies located the teens at In-N-Out Burger and they were arrested.

According to EDSO, witnesses and the victim identified the teens as those who committed the crime as did video surveillance.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be partnering with radio personality Jon Sanchez of KOH 780AM for the third time in a series of eight radio events to be broadcast for the community.

The next event is a live-remote broadcast on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Sanchez Ranch Meat Company located in Minden, Nev. LAKE TAHOE - Boating, rafting, kayaking and paddling are just a few ways to enjoy beautiful Lake Tahoe, but they come with simple safety precautions and preparations to ensure that day is complete and enjoyable.

"People are very excited to get on the water," said Edwin Lyngar, Nevada Department of Wildlife's (NDOW) Water Educator. "Take safety precautions as you can't depend on luck."

Lyngar as well as both California and Nevada water safety experts were at Sand Harbor last week to inform the public about how easy it is to be safe on the water.

A male pedestrian has died from injuries sustained in a hit and run crash in Minden early Saturday morning.

At 5:00 a.m. July 1, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Fremont Street and Johnson Lane for a possible injured person in the roadway.

Upon arrival, deputies found a male in the roadway with significant physical trauma from being hit by a vehicle. He succumbed to those injuries.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) received a phone call Thursday, alerting them of a convicted sex offender in Meyers who had cut off his ankle monitoring device.

Deputies searched for 25-year-old Alexander Paul Childs in the area but were not successful. Deputies have been on the lookout for him and EDSO has notified surrounding law enforcement agencies as well.

The anonymous caller told EDSO that Childs had called her and said he'd been without his ankle device for about a month and that he wanted to leave Meyers and head to Sacramento.

A suspect has been arrested for a series of robberies from cars parked at Stateline, Nev. At 1:50 a.m. Sunday, June 4, Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) received a call from Harrah's Tahoe security, alerting them that they had detained a man, 22-year-old Jeremy Perez of San Francisco.

Perez was with security officers after he was seen leaving a parking lot where several vehicles had their windows smashed and property taken.

During their investigation DCSO deputies located evidence connecting Perez to the car burglaries and he was arrested.

A three-year-old female bear was hit by a vehicle early Wednesday morning on SR-28 in the Memorial Point area south of Sand Harbor near Incline Village.

Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) received a call at 12:40 a.m. by a passing motorist on May 31 of an injured bear lying in the roadway. When deputies responded they found the badly injured bear who was breathing but unable to move.

Two women escaped what could have been a tragic accident after their vehicle plunged into the fast-moving Carson River early Friday morning.

Deputies were called into the Carson River Canyon near Deer Run Road in the early morning hours, for a report of a vehicle that went into the river. Dispatch advised both occupants of the vehicle managed to escape and were safe. Dispatch received the initial call at 2:42 a.m.

One woman, who is pregnant, was taken to the hospital for an injury to her foot, according to family friend Crystal Pacheco. The other woman suffered minor scratches.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) and the Special Olympics athletes wish to thank the community for their overwhelming generosity and support at the Tip-A-Cop event at Chili’s which was held on Thursday, April 27, 2017. During this event $2,726 was raised, the largest total the County has ever earned toward this worthy cause.

5/12 Update: The victim in this homicide has been identified as 43-year-old David Franklin Meade, a resident of El Dorado. Meade and suspect Eriksen were known acquaintances and this was not a random incident.

The investigation lead El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies to a home located on Lindberg Avenue in Placerville where they suspected Eriksen was hiding. The Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was deployed to the residence to take Eriksen into custody. Officers closed surrounding streets after the suspect barricaded himself in the home.

Jasper, the bear shot by a deputy in Incline Village on Saturday has died as a result of her injuries.

"I am saddened to hear of the passing of the bear from yesterday's incident in Incline Village involving one of our deputies," said Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen. "We appreciate the efforts made by the Nevada Department of Wildlife. The Sheriff's Office will thoroughly review the incident and take whatever measures are deemed appropriate."
