SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say another 36 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday. Of those, 12 are in El Dorado Hills, one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, one in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, six in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, five in Greater Placerville, two in North County, and nine in the Lake Tahoe region.

One of those new cases, 3 are under 18, 17 are aged 18-49, 12 aged 50-64, and 4 aged 65 or older.

Another 666 people were tested for the coronavirus and 630 negative tests results were received.

Of those, one is in El Dorado Hills, one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, one in Greater Placerville, and none in the Lake Tahoe region. There is a -1 case from Diamond Springs/El Dorado due to a misclassification of a previous case. Both areas with today's cases have seen an increase in visitors due to Apple Hill activities.

One of those new cases 1 is under the age of 18, 1 aged 18-49, - 1 aged 50-64, and 1 aged 65 or older.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - El Dorado County’s Public Health Officer, Dr. Nancy Williams, today announced the County has moved within the State’s new COVID-19 framework for reopening from the Red tier into the less restrictive Orange tier, effective immediately.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - City Council will be holding their next meeting on Tuesday September 22 at 9:00 a.m.

The agenda is a fairly short one with the last two regular council meetings lasting about eight hours each.

There will be a closed session meeting at 8:30 a.m.

Council will consider postponing or canceling all City permitted special events until November 17, 2020 or until public health officials deem it is safe to gather in larger groups. All permitted special events have been canceled since May 12, 2020, due to the pandemic.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A South Lake Tahoe area man has become the third person to die from COVID-19 in the county. El Dorado County officials say the deceased was in the 50-64 age group and had been hospitalized in another county.

Officials say another 14 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday. Of those, seven are in South Lake Tahoe, five in El Dorado Hills, one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, and one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz.

Another 467 people were tested for the coronavirus and 453 negative tests results were received.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - This won't be a normal labor Day weekend in Lake Tahoe due to COVID-19 and fire restrictions, but things can still be enjoyed, just differently.

“Before COVID-19, many of us would spend the Labor Day weekend getting together with friends and extended families to enjoy a little down time from work, as is the American tradition. This year, things have changed, but we can still enjoy our holiday weekend safely," said El Dorado County Public Health Officer Dr. Nancy Williams.
