Today, Friday, December 12, 2014, school busses will stop at main bus stops only for Zephyr Cove Elementary School (ZCES). These stops are designated as:

The corner of Tina Court and Ski Court for students living in the Tramway and Kingsbury Village area:

WHS - Bus will arrive at 6:35 a.m. and depart at 6:57 a.m.
ZCES - Bus will arrive at 7:55 a.m. and depart at 8:22 a.m.

Cardinale Way employees and family members prepared 400 Thanksgiving dinners for South Lake Tahoe area people in need of a meal on this holiday. They were up early, cooking turkeys and preparing meals to be handed out at the American Legion.

A tent was set up in the parking lot and a few hundred came by for a full meal. Smiles were plentiful, both from the hungry and from those who were able to help out.

"We want to take care of everyone that needs it," said Cardinale Way General Manager Joe Caracciolo when asked what moved the South Lake Tahoe dealership to offer free Thanksgiving dinners for 400 people this Thursday.

From 10 a.m. to noon on Thanksgiving, people who need a meal can go to the American Legion parking lot and receive a fully cooked meal which will include turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables and a roll.

Halloween Cove returns to South Lake Tahoe on October 31 at the Beach Retreat & Lodge from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. KTHO Radio and the local Kiwanis Clubs are sponsoring this fun filled evening which includes trick or treating, live music, Boys & Girls Club Bounce House, face painters, balloon artist, children's photos, fire safety by Tahoe Douglas Fire Department and much more....and it's all free!

In what has become a very busy year at Lake Tahoe wildlife Care, another bear was added to their den on Friday after his mother was hit and killed on Hwy 89 near The Cantina on October 4.

Tom Milham, LTWC co-founder and Secretary/Treasurer, went on the air at all of the local radio stations on October 16, asking for the public's help in finding Gardner after several sightings in the Y area. When he got the call that someone saw Gardner near Anderson Bike Rentals, Milham and Fish & Wildlife showed up with a cage full of food. They safely got Gardner into the cage.

Be an informed voter this November! An educational forum featuring all the candidates on the ballot running unopposed will be held at Lake Tahoe Community College on Thursday, October 9.

The South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, KTHO Radio and Lake Tahoe Community College are jointly sponsoring the Candidate's Forum in the Aspen Room, which is in the college's library building, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The 25th annual Lake in the Sky Air Show at Lake Tahoe Airport in beautiful South Lake Tahoe, California is scheduled for this Saturday, September 20, 2014. The Lake in the Sky Air Show has been described as “the best in the west” by one of its many professional aerial participants.

This year’s show which will includes:

Aerial Performances by Jon Melby, Bill Cornick, Spencer Suderman and Carl Liepold
Static Displays
Two World War II aircraft will be on display and will do a Fly-By during the Show. The aircraft are the F6F Hellcat and The Japanese Zero

Some people, when they first see Lake Tahoe, think how it'd be nice to boat on top of the glass like water. Others imagine fishing on the lake stocked with big fish, while yet others think about how nice it would be to sit at the quiet and scenic shore and enjoy the sun and the view.

To nine year old Erline Christopherson, all she thought when first saw the crystal blue waters was how she'd like to swim across it. The dream was born that day in 1955.

The El Dorado County Grand Jury has released their final report for the 2013-14 year and several South Lake Tahoe situations have been brought to light.

According to Jury Foreman Neil Cunningham, the jury compiled 20 reports and recommendations which were created as they followed up on inquiries from citizens and Grand Jury required inspections.

A record-breaking 100 businesses will participate in the 2014 Business EXPO –“Tahoe South in ACTION” this Friday, March 28. The event begins at 4:30pm and continues until 8:30pm in Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Convention Center. It will highlight South Shore businesses’ goods and services to an anticipated crowd of 1,200 attendees.

After uprooting from their Nashville home and full-time jobs in June of 2012, the husband and wife duo You Knew Me When set plans to tour the nation for a full year…however, they never stopped. Since that time they have been serving up their craft brewed compositions coast to coast throughout the USA and into Canada, released their first studio album “You, Me, and the Rest of the World”, and have done so as a fully independent entity. Now 18 Months into their ongoing tour, the duo makes a South Lake Tahoe stop on January 25th at the Himmel Haus.

The small orchestras of the radio shows and vaudeville stage performed varied repertoire from short snappy commercials to full-length works by major composers arranged for their size. Trinkle Brass Works presents Portable Masterpieces, a salon/theater orchestra that will bring this music to life at Piper’s Opera House on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Light classical, ragtime and plenty of melodrama. Despite smoky skies, South Lake Tahoe was still a hot spot this Labor Day Weekend. The 4th Annual Sample the Sierra festival brought in masses of people to taste the unique flavors of the Sierra Nevada. The kickoff Winemakers Dinner at Bumgarner Winery spoiled attendees with a five course meal prepared in the wood fired oven with each course appropriately paired with one of Bumgarner’s fine wines. Saturday’s Sip & Shop at Après Wine Company drew more than 20 people to taste C.G. Di Arie wines and gourmet cheeses.

With dozens of local business lined up to show their stuff, TahoeChamber’s annual Business Expo is the premier event of its kind at South Shore Lake Tahoe. And it is right around the corner with a wide open invitation to the 2013 Business EXPO — “The South Shore EXPOsed” — set for March 22 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. in the Convention Center at Harrah’s Tahoe.

In October 2012, all sectors of the Lake Tahoe South Shore community came together, shared knowledge and discussed a vision for economic revitalization. During that forum a collective voice was discovered on many issues.
