Join in on a day of fun, golf, great food, great friends and lots of prizes at the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe's 20th annual golf tournament. This year's event is held once again at Edgewood Tahoe on October 14, a day after the course closes to the public.
The $225 fee covers a round of golf, tee prizes, a chance at tournament prizes, raffle prizes, a gourmet lunch, on course lunch and beverages and a post-round reception. There will also be a wide assortment of silent auction items.

This event, spearheaded by a group of local motorcycle enthusiasts, is one of the largest fund raisers for Christmas Cheer in South Lake Tahoe. Christmas Cheer is a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing food to needy family's year around, and Christmas toys to underprivileged children in our community. With record numbers of people in need in our community, we would appreciate any and all donations for prizes to be raffled at our Toy Run. With the holidays just around the corner, and when the need is the greatest, we plan to assist Christmas Cheer in their mission.

The Valhalla Grand Hall will be decorated in a festive Holiday mode for the 18th Annual Holiday Faire during the weekend of November 22-24.
Twenty-five local vendors and artists will be offering a varied assortment of hand-made and other special items for purchase.
Santa Claus comes to visit as local school choirs and other musical groups perform both days.
Raffle tickets for raffle packages of items donated by the vendors will be available as well as hot mulled wine, hot cider, water, sodas and cookies will be available for purchase.

Barton Foundation's 19th annual Golf Tournament and fundraiser held on Thursday, June 20 at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course raised more than $14,000 for Barton’s Community Health Endowment fund. The Hawaiian themed, “Tiki Tee Off and Lei Up Luau Golf Tournament hosted a field of 108 golfers and 160 luau attendees – complete with a roasted pig, raffle prizes and a performance by the Ukuleles of Tahoe.

Former Thunder Valley employee sentenced for embezzlement

England Jr. sentenced Erika Michele Carlton, 38, of Roseville, to 18 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for theft from an Indian tribal government, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced. Judge England also ordered her to pay $236,050 in restitution.
This case was the product of an investigation by the United States Secret Service and the Placer County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorney Kyle Reardon prosecuted the case.

This film is about the ill fated 1924 climb of Mt Everest by George Mallory and the mystery surrounding his disappearance on the mountain. Mountaineer Conrad Anker attempts to determine if Mallory could have reached the summit by retracing the same route while using period gear and clothing. Even if you are not a climber you will enjoy this exciting and entertaining movie.

National Winter Trails Day at Van Sickle State Park

As part of National Winter Trails Day, the Tahoe Rim Trail Association will host free guided hikes on Jan. 12, 2013 from 10am to 2pm through the newly opened Van Sickle State Park behind Harrah’s Casino at Stateline South Shore Lake Tahoe.
There will also be outdoor gear demonstrations, raffle prizes, and a Warming Party at Explore Tahoe after the hikes.
This South Lake Tahoe event is a family-friendly introduction to snowshoeing and to winter opportunities on the Tahoe Rim Trail. Participants will have to bring their own shoes, snacks, water and warm clothing.

The Young Professions organized a holiday ‘FUN’draiser to benefit Tahoe’s SkiDUCK, (SKi and snowboarding for Disabled and Underprivileged Children and older Kids) at Riva Grill last month which included an evening of live music, raffle prizes, silent auction items, photo booth, games, food and drinks.

Tall Treez is teaming up with Lake Tahoe snowboarder Jamie Anderson to host there 3rd Annual Film Festival. The show will be on Friday, Nov. 16 at the Horizon Casino Resort at Stateline South Shore Lake Tahoe. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Entry $12.

November 16, 2012 - 7:00pm Join Lake of the Sky Outfitters and the Tahoe Area Sierra Club for an evening with the Great Great Grandson of John Muir, Robert Hanna. He will share stories about John Muir and speak about how he has been inspired to carry on his Great Great Grandfather's legacy in his own work as an advocate for California's State Parks.
Admission is free and there will be light refreshments served as well as a free raffle.
