This July, Squaw Valley welcomes the return of the Art, Wine and Music Festival with exquisite artwork, fine wine and internationally acclaimed classical and world guitar music. Now in its second year of partnership with the Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Society, the event is truly a delight for the senses. The festival will take place Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in The Village at Squaw Valley.

Lake Tahoe cyclists look to break world record today

Today is the day: South Lake Tahoe bicycle group Slow Rollers is asking the community to come out to its second annual Spirit Bike Parade today and an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records by forming the longest single line of bicycles. To beat the record, now held by the city of Davis of 916 bicycles, South Lake Tahoe will have to produce 917 bicycles or more. Barton Health grant applications open

In an effort to impact the health of our community the Barton Foundation recently opened their grant opportunities for programs and organizations benefitting the South Lake Tahoe area. Barton Health Grants provide funding for programs targeted at underserved populations and/or providing great impact to the health status of the community. The total grant amount available for 2012 is set at $25,000 and is generally dispersed between five and 10 local organizations.
