Tahoe Women's Community Fund to give away a record $125,000 in grants

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - To celebrate the 5th year of The Tahoe Women’s Community Fund (TWCF), a record $125,000 will be granted to the South Shore Community this spring.

The 212 members of TWCF contributed to the fund and Lisa Maloff made another generous donation. The $125k they will be giving to the community through grants is 49 percent higher than last year.

Members vote where the grants will be focused and they've added a new category this year, the Inspiration Grant.

Categories

$40,000 Inspiration Grant
- Accepting grant requests up to $40,000.
- Open to any South Shore non-profit to apply (2019 grant recipients are not eligible).
- Does not need to fit into a specific area of need or focus.
- Non-profits may only apply for ONE grant in ONE category.

Focus Grant #1 – Poverty, Housing, or Basic Needs $45,000: Accepting grant requests up to $15,000

Focus Grant #2 – Children & Youth $20,000: Accepting grant requests up to $10,000

TAHOE IMPACT GRANTS: up to $20,000 Total, $10,000 in each area:

Impact Grant #1 – Mental Health & Wellness: Accepting grant requests up to $5,000

Impact Grant #2 -- Education & Literacy: Accepting grant requests up to $5,000

South Shore non-profits are invited to complete a Request for Proposal (RFPs or grant applications). They will be available starting Friday, February 14 on the website, tahoewomenscommunityfund.org, and are due by 5:00 p.m. March 13, 2020.

All grant requests will be reviewed by the TWCF Grants Committee and finalists will be presented to the membership for voting. Grant recipients will be announced on Friday, April 10, 2020.

Save the date for the 2020 Grants Gala on Tuesday, May 19 at the Hard Rock Hotel
& Casino Lake Tahoe where the grant recipients will be celebrated.
