South Lake Tahoe locals graduate from STAT training

South Tahoe Fire Rescue graduated another session of South Tahoe Action Team (STAT) graduates during yesterday’s city council meeting.

This program is for community members to be trained by the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department as responders during times of crisis. Curriculum includes eight (8) hours of instruction taught by members of the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department. Graduates may be called upon in times of natural disaster, large scale emergencies and times of need in the South Lake Tahoe area. The curriculum also instructs STAT team members of the Incident Command structure, emergency first aid, lifting/moving techniques, use of extinguishers, flood safety and building collapse.

STAT graduates for this session are; Amy Witt, Gregory Turle, Wendy Stephens, Kathy Pappis, Angelique Padilla, Michael O’Brien, Rebekah Havard, Lauren Gresh, Nazira Garcia, Jon Dorn, Dianna Dorn, Ana Tourino, Nick Akins and Mario Acala.

“The STAT program is designed to have neighbors helping neighbors,” said Fire Chief Jeff Meston.
