SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Tahoe Art League Gallery presents its new Summer Art Show! Stop by this weekend, May 12-14, to see 16 artists' works, including seven artists new to the gallery. Ceramics, tote Bags, t-shirts, prints, paintings, jewelry, cards, and decorative art will be on display. There is a 10 percent discount on all purchases during the weekend.

The South Tahoe Association of REALTORS® Young Professionals Network (YPN) is coordinating a fair for first-time homebuyers to educate them about the benefits of homeownership, how to navigate the market, and what to expect in the home purchase process. This event will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 5 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe AleWorx.

Real estate professionals will share helpful tips on how to best position themselves when they’re ready to buy, such as improving their credit, getting prequalified, etc., and what they can expect from start to finish.

Sidestreet Boutique will be providing prom tuxedos and suit rentals to Whittell High School students, and measurement dates have been scheduled. They will be in Student Services on June 1 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., the school's flex/lunchtime, as well as after school until 5 p.m. on the same date.

This is the only time Sidestreet will be on campus for measurements to secure an order for a rental before prom. Payments are required at the time of order.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - South Lake Tahoe’s first indoor mini golf course, Flatstick Pub, also known as Tipsy Putt, will be teaming up with the El Dorado County Search and Rescue Tahoe Team for the month of May. Each Sunday in May, Flatstick Pub will donate $1 for every beer and $1 for every round of mini golf purchased.

They've teamed up with Tahoe Search and Rescue (SAR) this month to donate Sunday FUNDday proceeds to their incredible cause. From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on May 8, 14, 21, and 28, join in the fun and support SAR.

SLT Republican Women, Federated will host its May 11th luncheon meeting at Casey’s Restaurant, 212 Elks Point Road, Zephyr Cove (Next to Safeway).

Tahoe Star Tours announced today that it is expanding its summer schedule and bringing its popular stargazing events back to Northstar California Resort. Those visiting Truckee and North Lake Tahoe are invited to the resort’s Dark Skies Cosmoarium for docent-led stargazing events that will take place on select dates between June and September.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is hosting another Tahoe Talks on Wednesday, May 10 when author David Antonucci speaks on the environmental history of Lake Tahoe.

From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the History Museum Complex in South Lake Tahoe, Antonucci will present his new book, Environmental History of Lake Tahoe.

Organizers said they sincerely apologize for the late notice and any inconvenience. The Lake Tahoe Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce a free Beginners Genealogy Workshop, to be held at the South Lake Tahoe Library on April 29, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This workshop is open to anyone interested in learning about their family history and genealogy. Daughters of the American Revolution, a national organization dedicated to historical preservation, education, and patriotism, is excited to offer this workshop to members of the local community.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - The El Dorado County Community Action Council currently has several member vacancies, including those within the Low-Income and Community Sector Membership categories. The Community Action Council is seeking to fill the member vacancies with individuals who can represent the interests and concerns of people and families with low incomes living in El Dorado County, with a special focus on housing, nutrition, and low-income program needs.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Join Jared Manninen, a California Naturalist and wildlife photographer, at the South Lake Tahoe Library on Tuesday, Apr. 25, at 5:30 p.m. He will be sharing tips, considerations, and stories about his experience participating in multiple Tahoe Big Years (both birds and wildflowers) that have been sponsored by the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science.

The continuous snowfall that has allowed many Ski California member resorts to extend their winter season has also prompted the industry association to restart it's Mountain Safety Guide contest with the unveiling of a robust new prize package. Last month, two winners were selected live on the radio to receive unrestricted 2023-24 Ski California Gold Passes (valued at $3,750 each). To qualify, they had to read the Mountain Safety Guide and complete the quiz at the end with 80 percent or better accuracy.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Theater is back at Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC). Auditions are being held on Friday, April 14 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. for a new musical, Seussical.

Erik Baker, the college's new theater teacher and part of the winning duo at Dancing With The Tahoe Stars in October. He is now looking for a diversity of actors and actresses, and of a wide range of ages to match the message of the musical.

Marcus Ashley, South Lake Tahoe's purveyor of Dr. Seuss art, is donating artwork for the set.

The show will be running June 9-18.

Sorenson’s Resort (formerly Wylder Hotel) in Hope Valley, continues its Eastern Sierra History series with a Chautauqua performance “There It Is…Take It!” on Sunday, April 9 at 1 p.m.

Local author and historian David Woodruff assumes the character of the dreamer, designer, constructor, and despot of the Los Angeles Aqueduct, William Mulholland. Abhorred in the Eastern Sierra and revered in Southern California, "Bill” brought a river from 233 miles away, so the City of Angels could grow into a great metropolis. It left a rural, agrarian community in ruins.

The Lake Tahoe Visitor Authority Strategic Planning Workshop will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

It will be held in the LTVA Board Room, 169 US-50, Stateline, Nev.

After over a year of planning and development, the Tahoe Environmental Research Center's (TERC) new Find Tahoe Tessie app is almost ready to debut! But before launching a wide-scale promotion for Find Tahoe Tessie they are looking for people to help in the final stages of formative evaluation.

STATELINE, Nev. - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist Sammy Hagar & The Circle is coming to the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys on July 14, 2023.

They are the latest act to book for the popular outdoor series. They come during the American Century Championship at Edgewood which is held July 12-16, 2023.

Wylder Resort Hope Valley continues its local history series with a 50-minute slide show, “Going for the Gold-Lake Tahoe and the Olympics” from local author and historian David Woodruff on Sunday, March 26 at 12 p.m.
