South Tahoe loses at Spring Creek, Whittel beats Excel Christian

The Whittell Warriors have started their 2014 season much like they ended 2013, winning. The Varsity football team beat Excel Christian on Saturday by a score of 38-14, bringing their record to 2-0.

Senior Jake Sharp scored two touchdowns and carried the ball 14 times for a gain of 63 yards. Freshman Corey Huber scored once, ran for 109 yards on 13 carries. Huber also ran in an extra point and was on the receiving end of another.

Junior Colin Buchholtz, Quarterback, ran one in and threw for one. He connected with Senior Bryce Bronken on a 14 yard pass. Buchholtz was 4 for 11, 48 yards.

Next on tap for Whittell is Silver Stage on Saturday, September 13 at 4 p.m.

The South Tahoe Vikings lost Friday's away conference game against Spring Creek by a score of 15-13.
