Community food availability spots in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The local community has several different locations that offer food to those who find themselves needing extra groceries during not only the pandemic, but year-round.

The following is a list of locations at this time. All locations are in South Lake Tahoe unless otherwise noted:

Monday

Bread & Broth at St. Theresa Catholic Church Grace Hall foyer door
1041 Lyons Ave. 4:00- 5:30 p.m. A minimum of 4 bags of groceries (staples, fresh
produce, breads, and dairy (plus meat as available) will be provided. Families will receive additional bags.

Tuesday
Christmas Cheer All Year
1120 Third Street 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Food pantry.
Currently letting in one client at a time to get needed food.

Wednesday
Christmas Cheer All Year
1120 Third Street 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Food pantry.
Currently letting in one client at a time to get needed food.

Phoenix Pantry at the Tahoe Wellness Center
Bijou Center, 3445 Lake Tahoe Blvd. 10:30 a.m. - Noon.
Each family receives food and a box at the door.

Hope Full Lunch - Hope Lutheran Church
930 Julie Lane 11:00-12:30 p.m.
Sack lunch distribution to needy on the streets of SLT

Bread & Broth 4 Kids
Bags for school-age children participating in the B&B 4 Kids Weekend Food program will be distributed at school bus stops and South Tahoe Middle School in coordination with the LTUSD lunch program/bus distribution. Bags are also provided at various child care centers and Choices for Children. This date will change as the school calendar changes for in-person learning.

Thursday
Christmas Cheer All Year

Live Violence Free
2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd. 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m
Food bag distributed containing bread, canned goods, and other food items.

Friday

Our Lady of Tahoe Church/Outreach Program
1 Elks Point Road, Zephyr Cove, Nev. Office: 775-588-2080 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Food box given out depending on the size of the family. Staples, fresh produce, eggs, meat.
