COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say another 10 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday. Of those, two are in Greater Placerville, two in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, two Diamond Springs/El Dorado, and two in the Lake Tahoe region.

One of those new cases, two are under the age of 18, six are aged 18-49, two are aged 50-64.

Another 185 people were tested for the coronavirus and 175 negative tests results were received.

There have been another eight assumed recoveries with 170 assumed active cases.

There are currently two COVID-19 patients at Marshall or Barton hospital ICUs and no suspected cases hospitalized.

To move to the next tier, the yellow/minimal tier, the average daily rate of new cases needs to be less than one per 100,000 residents, and positivity rate of less than two percent for the previous two weeks. This cannot be done until being in the orange tier for three weeks at a minimum, which means there could have been a re-evaluation on November 3.

The County dashboard shows cases by episode date, not by the date El Dorado County Public Health was notified about the new case. Episode date is the earliest of the following dates: (symptom onset date, diagnosis date, specimen collection date, date received, or date of death) and serves as the best approximation of the date of infection.

The 7-day positivity rate for El Dorado County is 2.5 percent positivity (specimens between Oct. 22-28) and the 14-day rate of new cases is 82 (+7) (these figures do not include today's data).

The Lake Tahoe region of the county has moved into the High Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 100). El Dorado Hill , El Dorado/Diamond Springs, Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, Shingle Springs/Cameron Park/Rescue and Greater Placerville are in the Moderate Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99). North County has moved back into the low tier with South County (25 or less per 100,000 for last 14 days).

County-wide there have been 1,469 cases with 562 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

We are reporting an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. The individual was a Carson City resident. CCHHS is also reporting 38 new cases and 23 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region since yesterday. This brings the total number of cases to 1,999, with 1,783 recoveries and 29 deaths; 190 cases remain active.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 333 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in Washoe County since yesterday.

There have been 98 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since yesterday.

Lake Tahoe area cases - 46 (+0) are in Tahoe City, 146 (+1) in Kings Beach, 12 (+0) in Olympic Valley, 34 (+2) in Truckee, 14 (+0) in Carnelian Bay.

Their seven-day test rate is 3.3 percent positive, and average daily case rate for last 7 days is 8.2 per 100,000. Seven- day increase is 6.6 percent, 14-day increase is 8.2 percent.
