SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - EL Dorado County health officials report 13 new cases of COVID-19 with 10 in the Lake Tahoe Region, and one in each El Dorado Hills, North County and Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue. Of the new cases, five are male, eight are female, eight are aged 18-49, three aged 50-64 and two are 65 or over.

There have been an estimated ten new recoveries, leaving 174 active cases.

Testing sites were able to conduct 187 new tests.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced 18 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, with nine in the Lake Tahoe region, four in El Dorado Hills, three in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue and two in Placerville.

Of the new cases, two are under the age of 18, 15 are in the 18-49-year-old group, and one is aged 50-64, ten are male, and eight female. To date, 381 residents have tested positive for the coronavirus..

There have been eight new recoveries, leaving 171 estimated recoveries.

Testing sites were able to conduct 300 new tests.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials announced Wednesday there have been 13 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since yesterday, nine in the Lake Tahoe Region, three in El Dorado Hills and one in the Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Rescue area.

Of the new cases, one is under 18, nine are ages 18-49 and three are aged 50-64.

There were 42 new tests administered in the county, bringing that total to 14,833.

Two people remain hospitalized in the ICU. There are no suspected cases in Barton or Marshall hospitals.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced 30 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday. Of the new cases, 15 are in the Lake Tahoe region, 5 in Placerville, three in each El Dorado Hills, Diamond Springs/El Dorado, and Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, and 1 in North County.

Of those new cases, one is under the age of 18, twenty are ages 18-49, five are aged 50-64 and four 65 and older. They are even split at 15 males and 15 females.

There have been three new cases admitted to the ICU and there are currently no suspected cases hospitalized.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials released new figures, showing 15 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county since yesterday. Seven of those are in the Lake Tahoe Region, three in El Dorado Hills, three in Placerville, and two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue. Four are under the age of 18, nine aged 18-49, one aged 50-64 and one 65+.

There have been no changes in hospitalizations (3) but there are no longer COVID-19 patients in the ICU. There are currently no suspected cases in the hospital.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The next meeting of the South Lake Tahoe City Council will be on Tuesday, July 14 starting at 9:00 a.m. It will be a virtual meeting and log on/comment instructions are at the end of the story.

Council will vote on a measure, that if approved by voters on November 3, will add a local one-cent sales tax for general city purposes. There has been outreach done with local residents and finding out what their highest priorities are, and this proposed tax increase would meet those requests:

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced 12 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. Five are in the Lake Tahoe region, two in El Dorado Hills, two in Placerville, two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz. Of those new cases, three are male, nine are female, seven are aged 18-49, three aged 50-64, two aged 65+.

Three are 7 new recoveries and 134 active cases.

One more person has been hospitalized in the ICU, bringing that total to three. There are no additional suspected cases in the hospital.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There were four new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County Tuesday, with two of those in the Lake Tahoe region, one from Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area and one from El Dorado Hills. All are in the 18-49-years-old age group.

The total count only changed by two due to one person's location being misidentified and another was a duplicate entry, according to county officials.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say there were 20 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 since Thursday with 11 in the Lake Tahoe region, four in El Dorado Hills, one in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, two in Greater Placerville, and two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue.

CEO of Tahoe Prosperity Center to co-chair statewide economic recovery group

Heidi Hill Drum, CEO of the Tahoe Prosperity Center, has stepped in to serve as co-chair of the California Stewardship Network, an alliance of regional economic leaders throughout the state, which are instrumental in leading economic recovery efforts in their respective regions.

Drum, who lives on the South Shore, will serve alongside Oscar Chavez, assistant director of the Sonoma County Department of Human Services.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe region of El Dorado County passed the century mark Thursday with three new cases of COVID-19. Health officials report eight new confirmed cases with two in El Dorado Hills, one in the Diamond Springs/El Dorado area, one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area, and one person's regional address is unknown at this time.

Of the new cases, six are male, two female, one is under the age of 18, six in the 18-49 age group and one in the 50-64-year-old group.

Investigation leads to return of custom bar top to brewery in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Finding a truck with stolen license plates on Tuesday has led to the recovery of a custom made bar top from a South Lake Tahoe brewery.

On June 30, 2020, deputies from El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) got an LPR (License Plate Reader) hit on a truck in Meyers.

The truck was traveling west on US50 and deputies found the truck near Ice House Road and attempted a traffic stop. The driver turned onto a rocky dirt road, stopped by the American River and took off on foot.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials announced six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, five in the Lake Tahoe region, and one in the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area. Of the new numbers, two are male, four female, four in the 18-48 age group and two in the 50-64 age group.

No new recoveries have been reported, with that number remaining at 122. At this time there are 62 active cases of COVID-19. One positive person remains hospitalized in the ICU with one suspected case in the ICU.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - In response to Governor Sisolak’s announcement of the State entering Phase 2 of COVID-19 recovery, Douglas County Community Services has announced the reopening of child care programming, Lake Day Camp, at Kahle Community Center starting on Tuesday June 23, 2020.

Clarity of Lake Tahoe decreased 8 feet in 2019 due to several factors

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - Scientists and researchers have been watching the clarity of Lake Tahoe for decades, rejoicing when one can see almost 100 feet down into the iconic body of water, sadness when clarity drops to record levels.

The clarity of the lake is an important indicator of the changing conditions of Lake Tahoe.

In 2019, Lake Tahoe's clarity decreased nearly eight feet from the previous year's dramatic 10-foot improvement. The average clarity in 2019 was 62.7 feet, the second-lowest on record. In 2017, the recorded clarity was 60 feet. In 1968, it was 102 feet.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There was one new case of COVID-19 reported in El Dorado County Wednesday, a woman in the Diamond Springs/El Dorado area. She is in the 18-49-year-old age group. There has now been a total of 81 reported cases of COVID-19 to date.

There were two new recoveries today, bringing the total number to 59. There are 22 active cases and no hospitalizations or ICU cases reported for confirmed patients. Two people are currently in the ICU in El Dorado County that are suspected of having COVID-19 as well as two hospitalized with suspected COVID-19.

COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There have been two new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County today, one in the Greater Placerville area and the other in the Lake Tahoe region. Both are male, one aged 18-49 and the other in the 50-64 age range.

There have now been 80 cases of COVID-19 in the county. Currently there is one in the ICU and another hospitalized (from which region is not shared). There are currently 23 active cases.

To date, there have been 5,672 tests conducted, 174 of them Tuesday. There were no reported new recoveries.
