Update: One parachutist missing near Pope Beach

One parachutist is missing and two others were rescued this morning when the trio splashed down in the water near Pope Beach.
South Lake Tahoe fire and rescue teams were called in at about 8:40 this morning after initial reports surfaced that three people, possibly wearing parachutes, were in the water somewhere between Pope Beach and Camp Richardson. One of the skydivers apparently landed on the beach and two in the water.
The U.S. Coast Guard, and a helicopter has joined in the search for the missing person, along with El Dorado County Sheriff, and fire and rescue personnel from Douglas County.
