SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say there were 20 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 since Thursday with 11 in the Lake Tahoe region, four in El Dorado Hills, one in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, two in Greater Placerville, and two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue.

There were three new recoveries leaving 95 active cases. Two people were released from local hospitals, leaving three hospitalized and one in the ICU. There are also two suspected COVID-19 cases in the ICU.

There have been 236 additional tests given.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe region of El Dorado County passed the century mark Thursday with three new cases of COVID-19. Health officials report eight new confirmed cases with two in El Dorado Hills, one in the Diamond Springs/El Dorado area, one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area, and one person's regional address is unknown at this time.

Of the new cases, six are male, two female, one is under the age of 18, six in the 18-49 age group and one in the 50-64-year-old group.

Of the new cases, nine are males, five are females, 13 in the 18-49 age group, and one in the 50-64-year-old group.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials announced six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, five in the Lake Tahoe region, and one in the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area. Of the new numbers, two are male, four female, four in the 18-48 age group and two in the 50-64 age group.

No new recoveries have been reported, with that number remaining at 122. At this time there are 62 active cases of COVID-19. One positive person remains hospitalized in the ICU with one suspected case in the ICU.

182 additional people were tested for the coronavirus.

Fireworks banned in all Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - If you were planning on setting off fireworks around Lake Tahoe this 4th of July, you can forget about it. They are illegal around the lake and in neighboring counties. A mild winter and a large amount of forest fuels put the area at a high risk of fire this summer, and fireworks could be devastating.

Without the official fireworks shows at the north and south ends of the lake, many fear people will resort to the fireworks bought at roadside stands and Indian reservations. While those are legal in the areas they are sold, they are not legal at Lake Tahoe.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials are reporting 21 additional cases of COVID-19 Friday-Monday. Eight are in the Lake Tahoe region, six are in El Dorado Hills, two in the Diamond Springs/El Dorado area, and five in the Greater Placerville area. There was a reclassification of a case in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs.

Road closures lifting as firefighters make ground on 3,000 acre Poeville Fire north of Reno

Firefighters continued fire suppression operations Sunday on the Poeville Fire burning on the east side of Peavine Mountain northwest of Reno.

The fire actively burned Saturday night in brush and grass and as of Sunday afternoon was 30 percent contained and has burned 3,000 acres. At least eight structures burned, according to Truckee Meadows Fire.

Most road closures and evacuations have been lifted, according to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office. All roads are back open except for Heindel Road and Meyers Avenue as of 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

Conservancy awards City of South Lake Tahoe $425K to plan downtown 56-acre project

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The California Tahoe Conservancy has awarded a $425,000 grant to the City of South Lake Tahoe to help plan the future of the 56-Acre site, a south shore hub of civic and recreation activity across Highway 50 from Lakeview Commons.

“The 56-Acre site is already a vibrant gathering place for community members and visitors alike, and it has the potential to be so much more,” said South Lake Tahoe City Councilmember and Conservancy Board member Tamara Wallace.

Lake Wind Advisory in effect for Lake Tahoe; Red Flag Warning for Western Nevada

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There is a Lake Wind Advisory in effect for Lake Tahoe, Fallen Leaf Lake until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28. Expect winds from the west 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Waves on Lake Tahoe will be 2-4 feet. Strongest winds and roughest conditions expected Saturday afternoon and evening, and then again on Sunday.

Small boats, kayaks, and paddleboards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.

The California Tahoe Conservancy Board will meet online on Thursday, June 25 at 9:30 a.m. to consider authorization for awarding grants related to public access improvements, climate change adaptation, and forest restoration. The Board will consider approving a combined $1.3 million in recreation and public access improvement grants and $676,000 in forest health grants

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced 15 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, bringing the total to 145.

The new cases are nine males, six females, seven ages 18-49, five in the 50-65 age group, and three 65 and older.

There were nine new cases in the Lake Tahoe region, three in Greater Placerville, two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs, and one in El Dorado Hills. Since the local casinos opened on June 4 there have been 48 new cases of the coronavirus in the Lake Tahoe region of El Dorado County.

Washoe County Marine 9 rescues couple from Lake Tahoe

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - Washoe County deputies on board Marine 9 found a couple clinging to a deflated raft on Lake Tahoe around 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18.

Deputies aboard the boat were patrolling just northwest of the Thunderbird Lodge on the east shore when they spotted a number of items, including paddles and shoes, floating on the lake.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There was one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in El Dorado County Tuesday, a male in the 18-49 age group. This brings the total of cases to 118.

There have been an additional four recovered (99), leaving 19 active cases. There are currently no patients in the hospital with confirmed COVID-19 but there are two suspected positive patients in the ICU.

There were an additional 166 tests administered in the county Tuesday.

There were two new recoveries today, bringing the total number to 59. There are 22 active cases and no hospitalizations or ICU cases reported for confirmed patients. There was a jump in COVID-19 cases Friday in El Dorado County with the first diagnosed cases in the 0-17 age group. Since Thursday there were seven new confirmed cases, six in this younger group and one in the 18-49 age group. Local students among 650 graduates of Western Nevada College

Although Western Nevada College has delayed its commencement ceremony to honor its 2020 graduation class because of COVID-19, the college is proud to announce and congratulate its list of graduates.

Following the spring semester 2020, 650 students have graduated with 692 degrees and certificates. Eighteen of those were given to residents around Lake Tahoe.

Vehicle involved in Incline Village hit and run crash sought

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle believed to have been involved in a hit and run crash in Incline Village on Tuesday, May 12.

The crash occurred in the area of College Drive and Crest Lane at approximately 6:00 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Deputies are looking for a silver 2001-2004 Toyota Tacoma, similar to the one pictured above. The suspect vehicle should have damage to the left front fender and front bumper.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - There have been no new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County, but there has been one new recovery.

To date, 60 COVID-19 cases in the county with 20 in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Kyburz, and Tahoma). There have been 51 recoveries and nine active cases remain county-wide.

COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe and surrounding counties

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - The County's Public Health Department is reporting four new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County, two men, two women with one each in the areas of Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz; Diamond Springs/El Dorado; North County; and South County.

This brings the total number of cases to 60, with 50 recoveries and ten active cases. To date, 3,324 tests have been administered to residents with 131 of those new Tuesday.

Twenty people in the Lake Tahoe region of the county have tested positive. This region includes South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Kyburz, and Tahoma.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - Since Friday there have been two new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County. They are both in South County, one male, one female, 65+ and 18-49. This brings the total in the county to 56. There have been three new recoveries, so now 48, and eight active cases. To date, 3,193 residents have been administered tests in the county, with 258 since Friday.

Twenty people in the Lake Tahoe region of the county have tested positive. This region includes South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Kyburz, and Tahoma.
