Lake Tahoe roadside boat inspection stations open for season

Boating season in Lake Tahoe is here, and with it comes the return of roadside stations that will inspect and decontaminate motorized boats and watercraft heading to the lake.

All motorized watercraft require inspection for aquatic invasive species (AIS) prior to launching into Lake Tahoe, Fallen Leaf Lake and Echo Lake. Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has rescehduled their restriping project on State Route 28 at Lake Tahoe again, and have moved it up to Thursday, April 27 and Friday, April 28. Motorists can expect travel delays.

Reduced speed limits and travel delays of up to 30 minutes should be anticipated between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. The mobile road striping operation is scheduled to begin at the State Route 28/U.S. 50 Spooner junction and move westward to the Nevada-California state line.

He was placed under arrest and taken to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office for booking on charges of Eluding Police, Reckless driving, Disregard Traffic control device(s), Speeding, and driving without a valid license. He may also be charged with DUI, pending the test results according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Herrarea-Casas made it all the way to downtown Carson City before a Nevada Highway Patrol Sergeant decided that the pursuit had to end due to the danger it created for the public.

NDOT: SR28 striping rescheduled; Lane shift at bottom of Spooner

Drivers heading off the hill and going into Carson City via U.S. 50 need to be aware of lane shifts on the highway near South Carson Street.
