Of those, 16 are in El Dorado Hills, 19 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 24 in Greater Placerville, 8 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 9 in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 7 in North County, 2 in South County, 12 in Lake Tahoe region. There is one less awaiting address confirmation, awaiting address confirmation for 10.

One of those new cases, six are under the age of 18, 50 are aged 18-49, 23 are aged 50-64, and 19 aged 65 or older.

NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Like most of California, COVID-19 cases have been on the rise in Placer County, prompting state officials to move the area which includes Kings Beach and Tahoe City into the more restrictive red tier.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The US Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) has lifted its closure order at Taylor Creek so people are once again allowed into the area around the creek. This is a popular area each fall due to the Kokanee Salmon run and heightened wildlife sightings and was closed to both protect bears and discourage large gatherings. The Visitor Center has seasonally closed.
